I freely admit my prejudice: I have a strong preference for tomato-based salsas over non-tomato-based salsas. This selection is, obviously, the latter, so it comes to me with two strikes against it.
Its third strike is that its flavor is one-note, essentially just the Hatch chiles, as if there were nothing else in the jar. It's a little hotter than my ideal, but I'd be willing to forgive that if the flavors were richer and more interesting.
I didn't hate it; I finished it off in a few sittings. But I felt myself looking forward to getting back to my favorite, TJ's Fire Roasted Tomato Salsa.
Will I buy it again?
No.
I mixed it together with the Fire Roasted Tomato Salsa and it was excellent.
