Trader Joe's Organic Lentil Vegetable Soup

This is Day Three of New Products Week.

This soup is definitely better than its shelfmate, the Organic Split Pea Soup--but that's not saying much. My first impression was "mediocre." On reheating the leftovers, it improved to "pretty decent." But no number of tastings, I think, would ever elevate it beyond that. The soup definitely tastes of lentils, but if any of the other ingredients contribute additional flavors, they were lost on me.

Will I buy it again?

No.

  1. I love that this is vegan! What a weird time of year to add a new soup to the shelves though. Even with your review i'll try it and just have some cilantro and lemon on hand to jazz it up- would be noce to have organic vegan $2 soup around in the winter

  2. When covid first 'hit' I bought a ton of canned soups and also this lentil soup for some inane reason. So I realized I should at least start eating these soups, even though I've never had lentil soup before haha. I had half a bag of argentinian shrimp in the freezer, figured why not, and added it to this soup. It was sooooo good!
